Foundation named for Terri to aid the vulnerable

Posted on Apr 11, 2006 | by Staff

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (BP)--Pledging to work on behalf of the disabled, elderly and other vulnerable citizens, against euthanasia, care rationing and medical killing, members of Terri Schiavo’s family have started a foundation to educate the public on guardianship and state laws concerning death by dehydration and starvation.

The Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation will provide information and resources and offer seminars on advanced directives and individual constitutional rights through its website (www.terrisfight.org) and printed materials.

The foundation also will work to establish a network of professionals and organizations who will advocate, protect and provide care for people with disabilities and their families.

Mary Schindler, Terri Schiavo’s mother, told the Florida Baptist Witness that family members have been speaking to pro-life groups throughout the country and internationally through the Nashville Speaker’s Bureau (www.nashspeakers.com).
